Robin(o) is a person that is difficult to grasp. This individual goes by different definitions.

  1. Some kind of a human-bird that cannot fly nor lay eggs but does other tricks that could make one think he is a bird; “he likes to pajariar”.
  2. An individual human being that can be an annoying person from time to time; “he makes no sense”.
  3. A dedicated person with a lot of care for others, but who kind of tries to keep his world manageable; “he remains passionately reserved”.

It is alive

I was born in April 1978 in a Dutch town with 25 churches and 1 bar. At the age of 20 I moved away start commence my journey that made me live in places such as Amsterdam, Durham (England), Barcelona, Berlin and Istanbul. Since 2008 I have mostly been in Amsterdam.

I live with my son who doesn’t like his photo to be taken, as you can clearly see in the picture below. I do co-parenting, which is working out really nice for everyone.

It Works

I work for fun, profit and usefulness. Most of my income is based on my activities as an online publisher. I manage and design websites, I write content and I do the marketing or seo that is needed. I also work for ngo’s, collectives or persons that I can affiliate with, such as non-profits or friends (of friends).

If you and I know each other or we have friends in common, and you would like to have someone professional to look at your web-implementation and or SEO strategies, you can always reach out to me.

I strictly work with GNU/Linux and mostly with Free Software, for my personal stuff as for work. I manage my hosting with Debian. I use CMS tools such as WordPress & Drupal in addition to static site generators. I like websites to run fast and to have a clear, simple design.

It is passionate

What drives me in my life is creation, giving and sharing. I believe so much in sharing and community that I once had set up my house Casa Robino as a place where long-term travelers or nomads could find a (returning) home.

I also travel. Especially in the past I have traveled extensively, mostly by thumb, bicycle or foot and even without money. When I can I still travel, but not any more for months in a row or even more.

In a further past I have also been involved with grassroots politics around climate change, ecology, globalisation and open-publishing. I worked as a journalist and marketeer. I also have a masters in Judo, Political Science and Dumpster Diving.
